“Summer Fun” Photo Contest Winner
The winner of our “Summer Fun” photo contest is Diane Benaroch of British Columbia. Congratulations to Diane who wins a free membership to the Canadian Coton de Tulear Club for 2012. The photographs were judged by five friends and family members of mine. The photographs were identified by numbers only. The judges were asked to rank their first 3 choices giving consideration to overall photo quality and relevance to the contest theme of “summer fun.”
Points were given for the rankings. Diane’s photo above was a clear winner ranked first by three judges and second by another judge. One judge described it as an “obvious first choice” given the theme of summer fun; another said, “Who could not find joy in their unbridled enthusiasm?” Another judge commented on the beautiful composition, “the arc of the dogs running across the photo, the single chair to balance; freedom and happiness personified.” Diane’s title for the photo? What else, but “Having fun.”
After our first place photo, the voting was very close for the runners-up. We had a total of 16 photographs entered. Thank you to all of our contestants for a wonderful variety of pictures.
I would like to say a special “thank you’ to our judges… Malvene Lemerick, Arvena Tokarek, and Gail Gleason (all of Vancouver), Pat Wasylishyn of Elliot Lake, Ontario, and Janice Crossman of Ottawa.
